Wastin' my day on you wasting my time on things old instead of new
I fell to the bottom & staggered back up I’ve had enough for now
The Rocks of time are eroding away my soul has been chipped from the bone
In dreams I see your embrace next to mine and I wake with tears welled up in my eyes
I stayed away for what seemed like a time then you broke down my door and crawled in
One by one you enter unwilling taking me down in one lonesome stride
For now I’ll stick to the methods I have persuasion is just an old trick
I made the decision to move on this time but the tracks in the mud will always stay wet

Hazy Nights

Through all the hazy nights and the lonely days
Through the lazy week, a snails pace
But then it comes along, knocks you to your feet
Where do you belong where do you agree
I will go out and find my way
May be a while but in the end it takes a day
When the seed has been sewn so low
Time slows down now you're all on your own
This time we can go and rule the streets
Ideas we can share from sea to sea you see
Play guitar all night under stars so bright
Walking home under the lonely moon what a pretty sight
When you live and you know that you are if you tried but you failed it can be so hard
The bridge can still be walked about a mile from the dock you can leave on a boat come home when you will

Shadows Of You And I

Went out one time in the dead of night
Didn’t come home til the sun was bright
Looked out a the lake in front of my eyes
Reflection of the trees they can tell no lie
And as I walk these trails like the back of my hand
Time lays still and I have no plan
Except to stay and listen to the whistling wind
And recall a time but I don’t know when
Well I’d rather be here than any city I know
In the peace and calm and the winter snow
In the summer in the shade with my head held high
I can tell by the shadow it’s just you and I
Looking at the path down below my feet
Finding my way through these evergreen trees
Where I will end up nobody may know
But I’ll find my way home through my tracks in the snow
On my face in the eve I can feel suns glow
At the end of the day nowhere else to go
So I'll sit on a rock and sing out a tune
And tell this story to my child one day very soon

Cowards blinded by the gates of pearl
The selfish are not worthy they're the ones that like to hurry
And believe they stand before you in the light
All the stories as a child make believe they tame the wild
They hold us where they want us in their psalms
But late it is the hour put down your nail and hammer
Break the window stain the glass with real blood

Well it just started raining yea looks like it’s gonna pour
No I don’t feel like waiting I wanna see some more
When the thunder comes a rolling I can see the lightning just beyond the shore
Well the storm is where my home is I’ll get by on the chaos til I hit the floor
Well time please slow it down if I had the key I’d turn you back around
Summer day would be as long as the reach beyond the sun let’s hold all we have here and now
The hail came without warning lasted an hour til the cloud line broke
We're setting sail at daybreak we'll get by without words just oars
The fire started roaring and for once I could feel the smoke
And though my eyes were burning no I couldn’t keep em closed
So goodbye to the city in the evening I can hear you snore
I wanna go where no one else is take my time in a tree way up north
All I need is my family maybe a clock one that’s dead yea broke

Well we gather over in the wood there's a spot on the hill

I can see the lights come from a mile
From a low lit path I can bear a smile
Then it turns on itself but it takes a while
Is this a dream or have I become viral
This is a calling to the ones out there unstill in their minds
Well come out now the night is young and the sky is red
Let it out all night back to world when the sun comes up
You and me and the world spins round
Gravity drags our bodies back down

When I wake up rain in my eyes
I blame it on the water from in front and behind

I think about the things that have come to pass
So leave it all behind and keep a bad thing alone
Because a good thing is coming just up the hill from the storm
